Winner of the Academy Award for Best Documentary / Short Subject Heaven is a Traffic Jam on the 405 is an extraordinary and innovative portrait of artist Mindy Alper, whose renowned and astonishing body of work reveals a lifetime of struggle with debilitating mental illness.
Directed by his longtime editor Laura Israel, the film is an exuberant and fascinating journey into the images and words of the iconoclastic Robert Frank, a Swiss-born artist who reinvented himself the American way, and is still standing on ground of his own making at the age of 90.
Filmmaker Laura Israel will be in attendance for an informative Q & A to follow the screening.
